I've put this Guppy on top of my helmet: http://www.serfas.com/product.asp?ProductID=290 The loop fits PERFECTLY through one of the vents and back up through the other, and the light stays in place. (Unless you try to get into the car while still wearing your helmet and crack the top of your head against the door frame, then the light pops off. Undamaged, thank goodness!)
The front facing white LED is crazy-bright, just like the original Guppy. The two side facing red LEDs are a stroke of genius! I bought it today and wore it through very gray and rainy weather. I could see it flashing as I rode by the windows of buildings and I played with it later at home; very bright and visible on the helmet.
The Mutant Guppy seems pretty water resistant. I wore it (flashing) in about 2 hrs worth of heavy rain with no ill effects.
Small, light, and bright. Good deal for $12!
