I wanna share my wahooey! with you...
The past 7 weeks have been rather exciting & something i'd rather not repeat very often! I finished my 5 week "sentence" in the leg brace the other day and it's oh so nice to have it off!I am purchasing a different type tomorrow just to give me piece of mind during the holidays & a bit afterwards.
I can bend/move my right knee to a certain extent and then it tells me "nup..not going any further there chickie..thank you for trying..do come back another day"
Today has been the best bit of the last 7 weeks
1-My physio said yes I can use a trainerI can't make a circle with my right knee yet but i can go up a bit & then backward!!! I gave the exercise bike @ thier office a try. All i need now is some type of mini step ladder to help me get on & off the bike.
I asked him if i kept up doing all the pool & home based exercises provided plus pilates would the end of jan be a reasonable time for getting back on the bike outside...Answer-![]()
2-I joined our group swim & had a great time with our drillsI was just about back to my previous speed
![]()
Very happy that i kept swimming with our group & on my own when i recieved the ok to do so from the ortho! I was getting a bit bored of swimming with the pull buoy but
3-If i can get into the drivers side of our car i can drive(i have to wait until ian gets back on sunday to give driving a shot. Ian also tells me i have to pass his test before he lets me drive
)
4-I'm able to go to the beach but unable to venture into the ocean due to the instability..
Don't panic kids..I'm being careful when i do any (right)knee-related movement. I know one false move & i could be back to square one.
Thanks again for all your support![]()

Congratulations CC! You're almost there! Glad to hear the progress.

Baby steps indeed. But it won't be long before you'll be back. As hard as it is to resist doing it now, it's just not worth it - sounds like you know that, so you'll be fine. YeeHaw!!!!

Give yourself a pat on the back for all your hard work and patience is paying off.
Yeaaaaaaaa! You did good considering you were stuck for that long. I would be a total ***** at this point in your recovery if it was me. Manely cause i don't know how to hold still. I think that is why I have out off a foot operation. I would have to be down 6 weeks. I can't imagine that. If I am down more then two days I am going out of my mind. My husband can always tell when I am really not feeling well cause I don't move. And that is rare.
Be careful! Don't mess up!
Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.

congratulations!!!
Yee-ha! That's great.![]()
I am happy for you. I know this has been really tough for you to sit tight and heal!
Congratulations, CC!! You are an inspiration to us all!
Here's hoping your holidays are wonderful and you keep improving each day. Let us know how the first trip on the trainer goes.

Oh CC
This is such fabulous news!
Can Ian build you a little step? I think it was Emily who broke her pelvis after being chased by dogs 18months or so ago (hope I am not confusing people and stories) who posted a pic here of her getting onto her spin bike with the aid of a "step"
I'll see if I can search it out and link you to it
But wow - what fabulous news... to be able to start doing things with fewer and fewer restrictions.
Good girl in following doc's instructions so diligently
wahooey - you rock, CC! We all know that, once you're addicted, I mean used to it, NOT exercising is a lot harder than exercising. Good for you on managing to hold back!

Well done! And well NOT done! Keep on doin' and not doin'. You'll be fine again in "no" time.![]()
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.
The butterflies are doing the outrageous dances for you: cartwheels and somersaults and jet plane imitations - they are having a blast!!! I'm so happy for you! Keep keeping that end goal in sight and you'll heal up so well! Maybe not better than before, but smarter than you were before...(I know that's what my injury did for me)
Hugs and happy butterflies,
~T~

Ummm... It was Emily I was thinking of, 2005 after being chased by dogs
Here are her two initial threads about it, but my connection is so slow it is taking ages to load pages so not sure which one the pic of her indoor bike set-up was in

And Silver and BTChance also sustained similar "damage", so they might have ideas about climbing on your indoor bike too...
