is it a dumb question to ask what is different in a tri bike than a road bike? apologies if that is too stupid to ask.![]()
Among other things they have a steeper seat tube angle which is supposed to use different muscles and leave your legs better for the run.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

hill slug is right. Generally a tri bike wil have more elements focused on aerodynamics rather than light weight (although may have both). Triathletes are not allowed to draft and thus need to take advantage of aerodynamics moreso than road cyclists who ride in together. Tri bikes will have generally have aerobar handlebars.

One of our guys rode one to a top 10 in the FL IM a couple years ago. Seems like a nice frame.
No, it's not for me. I'm very happy with my Madone. although I wouldn't refuse a new madone.![]()
It's not for Mr. either. Although you are right that he does have "unique" geometry needs. it may be something that he should consider down the road.
This is for one of the tri team members that rode the across state ride with me. I initially met the dealer for this bike at the Triathlon Symposium that I went to. I have insinuated myself into his buying process. It's like pretending to buy a bike! Almost better than buying a bike myself since I don't have to spend the money, but then I don't get to ride it either.![]()
Do you think that I could become a bike buying consultant for pay?![]()
