    I made it to 3500!!!

This was my 3rd year back on a bike. My first year was mostly mtn. biking so really only my 2nd year on a road bike. I am so happy to have reached my goal of riding 3500 miles in a year.

I'd like to thank the people here on this board. Your posts have encouraged and motivated me. Thanks to Indy for the training tips, general riding advice and friendship. I'd also like to thank Aggie_Ama and Lisa SH for pushing me to the 3500 mile goal...trying to keep up with you two was tough. Also thanks to Silver...looking at how many miles you've racked up encouraged me to do more miles. There are so many more ladies here that have helped in so many ways...health advice, training, motivation, etc. It would be impossible to name you all. So, thanks TE for this board - it's great that we have a place for women to help other women (and the occasional guy too).

Awesome!!!!! That is a hugh number of miles in only your second year back on the bike!

it's awesome that you've had the opportunity and dedication to ride. And it's awesome that you're loving it!

I can't imagine that I could inspire others, so I'm really touched that you said that I did. (I have many faults and issues). I know for me I love being on my bike and the feeling of the movement and the power and the overcoming of the obstacles that keep us from accomplishing our goals and feeling alive when I'm riding. If I could, I'd ride twice as many miles. If there's any way at all that I might inspire other people... these are the ideas that I hope come across.

    Ride on with JOY!!!!!

    Wow! That's so exciting!

I've really enjoyed reading all about your adventures in getting to that 3500 as well. I look forward to hearing about your next 3500 . . .

    Thanks everyone.

Silver, I hope some day to be able to put in the kind of miles you do. That's good advice about riding with joy. I hope riding never becomes a chore. I enjoy it so much right now.

You were. I've read about all the great rides you've done and all the cool things/places you've seen. And I've seen your miles add up on bikejournal.

I'm not sure what to do about goals for next year. I'm not sure I'll even set one in terms of miles. I really think that I'd just like to focus on getting faster/stronger on the group rides. I don't want to be left behind on every little hill that comes along. I need to try to focus on actually "training." Which means intervals. I just don't want to make riding "work." But, if I want to get faster I'm going to HAVE to work at it, right?

Aww, thanks!! I am still hoping to kick this bronchitis in time to get to 3,500. Maybe next year we will be at one of the same rides.

Hope you get to feeling better and get to the 3,500 for 2007!
I don't think I'm going to quite make it to 3,500- it's getting really cold now.

Oh, that rocks! High-fives for li10up!

And you, li10up, are now inspiring and motivating me. I'm still struggling to meet my goal for this year of 2000 miles. Gotta try and squeeze in about 150 more in a little less than three weeks. Since I live in NW Florida, I might still be able to do it. Feel a little scratchy throat and cold-like feeling this morning, but I'm dosing myself with Zicam, Coldeez lozenges, etc.

Wow, that's so cool....kind of like the circle of life thing. You can do it. That's only about 50 miles a week...you can do that. Hope that cold doesn't develop. Good luck, I'll be pullin' for ya.

Mr. Silver, for some reason I thought you were a high mileage guy...guess because Silver has so many miles that you might be a cyclo-holic too.

WOW...that's an awsome job well done. 3500 is a great accomplishment and you should really be proud of that. Maybe that might be my next years goal

    Congratulations Lilup!!!!

Bad JuJu....after two years I finally met my 2000 mile goal last month. The past two years I had lost two months each year of riding, but this year nothing stood in my way. So remember, there is always next year, just keep the enjoyment of riding in it.

My goal next year will be 3000miles. I am hoping for spring to begin when it is suppose to so I get back to riding a longer after work ride that I ended this season with.
