She's way cool in person! Any of you in Nor Cal, we're planning a slow easy mixte-freewheel ride in Sonoma on the 15th. Even if everyone's busy shopping we plan to do this anyway.

    Hi lph!
Sorry I didn't report or even respond before now. Didn't have all that much on-line time while traveling.
Way cool bike you have for a commutermobile! But of course, I'm partial to red Treks so my opinion may be biased.
And thanks for showing me where to find those ghost-themed loos. I might never have discovered that the bookcase was the hidden door
Did you make it to swimming after? I was really impressed with your speed on that commute route! If it were me cycling on ice and snow, I'd be paddling along like an old-fashioned velociped, feet on the ground Oh well. Spring will come again. Had a nice couple'a miles on Trek420's guest bike Saturday. So sweet to feel a breeze through the helmet , specially on a (for me) mild California day (what was it, Trek? 50-something?) Meanwhile, back in Trondheim again, I'm hoping for more snow so maybe I can give my skis a try again. We have a couple inches of old hard-glazed stuff. Ok to look at from inside, but not what I feel comfortable skiing on. Should be more soon, tho'.

Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.

No sweat, Duck, I knew you were travelling. Hope you had a good trip. I made it swimming (I think, I can't completely remember what I did that evening - it all faded in the glory of meeting you, of course ).

Commuting now is a bit of a bummer. -11 deg C, I'm too lazy to figure what that is in Fahrenheit, but it's cold enough that my feet are cold even through winter boots, my wool Buff just freezes to a stiff mask in front of my face, and my bike just isn't cooperating at all. But - the trees sure are pretty! All white and sparkly! Soon ski time for us all, I think
Winter riding is much less about badassery and much more about bundle-uppery. - malkin
