    finding rides??

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Me and two of my friends would like to go camping and do a ride in another state. We want to do a charity ride so our registration money is put to go use. We live in LA and are looking for soemthing pretty close to LA. Anyone have any ideas as to how to find a ride. Looked up bicycle clubs in other states, etc. etc. but that takes a really long time to go to each club, look at links and we are hoping to do this by the end of June. IF you know of any sites that might make my search easier, I would appreciate it.

If you should choose MS as your cause, the national website allows you to search by state: National MS Society

I imagine some of the other national societies that sponsor a lot of rides have a similar function.

Are you a member of bikejournal.com? People post rides there with links. You can search by state, city, etc. It's a great national database, not all inclusive but pretty good.

Another national organization that has fund-raising rides across the country is the American Diabetes Association. You can check their ride page at Tour de Cure to see if there is a ride in your area.

If you have a favorite charity, you might want to check their web site to see if they happen to have a fund-raising ride.

    try www.bikerides.com

There was another website I stumbled on that listed centuries around the country - can't find it now, but maybe you'll have better luck with google.

The one I stumbled on that lists centuries around the country is Bike Centuries.

I'd search Bike Tours and Charty Websites on the net.

and, you're in LA? Get a copy of Cyclecalifornia. It's a free magazine often is at LBS. The calendar in back has tons of tours, charity rides listed. It is online but the calendar online is not complete.
