The pitting and schmutz can be seen in these two pics attached. It's hard to tell if that's rust on the underside of the leather or the original
color of the leather showing through. Harris Cyclery's site said they don't make the B72 with chromed springs anymore. I'm looking forward to putting it on the bike, but first I have to get new tubes and tires for it.

your saddle looks great. why don't you wipe the springs down with something
and clean and dry them. it looks fine to me.
