Ours are all over the place and alternate between the garage and the living room!

We have hanging space for 5 bikes - three hang on hooks by the front (or sometimes rear) tire. These are high enough that when I pull my car into the garage, they clear the hood (just barely). The other two are hung by the top tube on a wall rack. One is super high and can only be reached by ladder, so often that hook only holds unused tires while the bike ends up propped up some where else.

The other bikes are currently on the workstand in the garage, leaning against the fireplace in the living room and propped up against the back of the couch (also in the living room). (we have 8 )
