how do you store your bikes?

hubby built a great space for himself and our bikes in the garage...he now has room to work on them without having to rearrange everything! Our camping gear is stored on top so when we go away for weekends everything is in one spot ready to go. The roadies are kept on a wall rack in the dining room...

I have a garage just for bikes, attached to our studio. We have an old place with decades of out-buildings that have been repurposed over the years--this garage was the carriage house, and the studio was a dairy barn at one time. We also have a 1200 sq ft shop building with a large overhead door. (Unfortunately, there's no place indoors to park our cars!)

But anyway, last summer I took some of the paper wallboard off the ceilings in the garage and put rafter hooks up there. Four road bikes hang up there from their front wheels. Various frames, parts, etc., and bikes with problems are hanging up, too. The mountain bikes are on the floor in a rack, and my new(old) Centurion is leaning against the wall. The Schwinn I bought at a garage sale the other day is the only one with a kick stand so it stands up by itself. Hubby built me a work bench with peg board for Christmas last year, and got me a stand and a bunch of tools. I put the old rug from the dining room in there so I have a cushy place to stand. Whenever I get around to taking the "toy archive" out of there, I'll have a place to attach my kayak to the wall, too.

We have a one car garage that houses four bicycles, two (soon to be three) motorcycles, two kayaks, and assorted tools. We do the hooks screwed into the wall to hold the bikes.

The cars sit outside in the snow/rain/blazing sun.

I decided against the scooter, I'm getting a small-ish dirt bike. I'll ride it to work (free parking for MC's) and take it over to a friends farm and act young and stupid.

Keep my 3 bikes in the garage using these to keep them from falling over, and since they are wheels the bikes can be shuffled a bit.
I love some of the beautiful wall art/bikes, though. Great photos of very neat living quarters for your bikes!

Our system is similar to Bouncy Bouncy's - we have 4 bikes hung on rubberized covered hooks that hang from the ceiling in the garage. Just one hook per bike on the ceiling and the rest of the bike just rests against the wall.

Of course, we have more than 4 bikes, so the rest of the bikes are in our storage area under our house resting up against boxes and all the other stuff that is in storage, you know, like christmas ornaments, barbeque grills, etc.

OH, it's an act

Right now I have 25 bicycles in my garage. My friend's car is in the driveway (she's staying there with her four kiddos). They're just sitting there; no equipment for efficiency, though I've thoguht about it. I haven't been there long enough to have clutter grow and take over the garage (give it time!).

When the bike coop folks take the 20 Huffies to Chicago there might be room for the car... I considered taking some of my bikes over to where I'm staying now but there's no garage there, so I'd rather have the one I'm using locked in the carport and then ride the half-mile out and switch off at the garage. (Hey, it's more mileage towards my 10K goal).

When I am in my house often one is in the living room ... oh, and when I decorate the one on the trainer...
