I managed to get out for a 26 mile ride. It was soooo cold! 22 degrees F!
Thankfully (it was Thanksgiving, after all ), I have plenty of cold weather gear.

    I bundled myself up good:

    2 base layers,
    arm warmers,
    2 jackets,
    tights,
    shorts,
    wool socks,
    shoe covers,
    ear warmers,
    balaclava,
    and 2 pairs of gloves.

Whew! It almost took me longer to get dressed than it did to ride!
If you can read this, take a pull.

I snuck in a quick 1 hr. ride yesterday. By body had a hard time with it since we've been hovering around the 70's forever and yesterday was 40! Big shock to go from t-shirt and shorts the day before and cold the next. We even had a little snow last night!

I did 22 miles down to Great Brook Farm and back. It was 45 when we left and 50 when we got back. Got to wear my new Terry stuff that came from the sale.

I made my 2500 mile goal (downsized from 3,000) and given the fact that my health situation is not getting any better, with still no resolution, I guess I am happy I made the 2500. I think I'll be bringing the trainer out this weekend.

My sister and I did our 20 mile loop to the Idaho stateline and back. Sunny but the temp was low to mid 30's. We both forgot our water bottles so we had to stop and buy a bottle to share. We skipped lunch and came home to a very filling Thanksgiving dinner. Dinner never tasted so goooood! Especially since I didn't have to cook! bikerHen

    thanksgiving day wuss-out

i started out to do the annual turkey ride up south mountain with a large group. i met my friend at his house at 0545, admired his not one - but two - new road bikes, then set off for the meeting place about 12 miles away. still not cold enough for anything but arm warmers. billy shunned the arm warmers and then wished he'd worn them. we got about 5 miles and i just did not want to ride anymore. i couldnt fathom riding all the way to central and camelback, then out to south mountain, then all the way up 7.5 miles long and 1000 ft up, then all the way back home. just kept thinking about DH still warm and cozy in bed, and having to go to work in the afternoon, and how cold i was. so i just wussed out, said bye to bill and went back home.

i think i maybe overtrained for el tour de tucson and just needed a break. still rode in to work. the company catered boston market turkey dinners with dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and pumpkin pie. Very Nice!

My husband and I have no family in town so we did separate bike rides on T day. I went in the morning and did 42 miles, would have done more but pulled a muscle in my back by twisting in an awkward position on the bike. Not much traffic and I went a route that usually doesn't have much anyway. My husband went for an afternoon ride on his new Colnago he just put together. It was a great day weather wise and really glad I went.
