I received the newsletter from the Eastern Trail Alliance this morning. I get it by virtue of having driven to Maine from Arkansas to ride the 8-Lighthouse 40 miler with them in September. The newsletter had a report of the ride, and it says, "Riders came from as far away as Virginia and Arkansas..."
Hey, that's me!
And my name is listed in the New Members section, too.
I just thought it was funny, incongruent, strange, etc....

All you need is love...la-dee-da-dee-da...all you need is love!
You make for good press. This gives the impression that it's such a great ride that people come from far and wide to do it.
That is a long way to drive for a ride![]()

Truthfully, I only drove from Vermont, where I was dropping my kid off at camp. Still, it was like 150 miles anyway!
I ended up staying in Maine the whole week, instead of staying in Vermont like I'd planned, and I'm glad I did it.
