    Hey Sandra!

I figged that it was about the mixtes but I noticed the convo veering towards how many bikes can you cram in a house! I think that the more you have the more options you get...kind of like shoes...!!

I think your confession is amazing and awesome! Keep collecting :-)

We have 8 bikes *in the house* - somehow, I thought we'd renovate the detached garage and put some in there, but it doesn't feel secure enough somehow (either from weather or theft). So....4 in the living room, 1 in the dining room and three in the extra bedroom.

    AHHHHH...It *IS* an illness.....

And I really want at least 2 more.....

All of my bikes are now out of the house. THANKYOUVERYMUCH. They only stayed in when they were brand new. Two are hanging in the garage and three are in a greenhouse/storage room. We are lucky to have a very large storage room.

I don't know if I could do that.
I like just seeing them there.

I can't. I like to see them (they're pretty enough to be art )

Plus, somehow it makes me feel better to know they're safe - even if I can't be riding).

I'm probably nuts. Or sleep deprived...

DH and I have seven bikes between us (used to be 10, but we donated two and sold one!) His bikes:

    Trek 5200 (road)
Bike Friday Pocket Crusoe (folder, touring bike)
Giant Sedona LX (comfort mountain bike)

    My bikes:

Aegis Swift (road, on the trainer for now)
Bike Friday Pocket Crusoe (folder, touring bike)
Titus Racer X (FS mountain bike)
Novara Bonita (entry-level HT mountain bike - I need to sell)

And we're actually talking about getting smaller, less expensive folders for on our boat, since we don't want to risk any damage to or theft of our Fridays, and we're even shorter on space than we thought we'd be. There's a company that sells Downtube Minis (16" wheels, fold really tiny) on Okracoke Island that we want to check out and test ride.

    It is a sickness...
