The one pictured is the one I got him - an Ashford Kiwi. They are very good beginner's to intermediate wheels and quite reasonably priced. My DH took two lessons and then the rest was on his own.

You're in Western NC, right? I know of an Alpaca farm - Venezia Dream - just east of Asheville - very nice woman who owns it who is also on the board of the National fiber co-op. She could sell you some fine wool to work with!

(I just noticed your in Greensboro... so not so close to Asheville. But I bet there's other farms nearby to you... including sheep farms!)
