Wish I knew genteel code words for "stool softener", but if you're not mobile & on the pain meds, sometimes even the fiber can use a little help.

Hope you're able to get outdoors even a little soon!

    me again

    K me again

For the last few weeks the only place i've been able to sleep is on our couch. 'The main reason is as follows:
1-when i move from a resting flat position to a seated position on our bed, i get dizzy
2-If i try and lay(propped up a bit) a little bit on my right side on our bed & even on the couch, i get dizzy.

I don't mind being injured-the leg brace & sling don't bother me. The dizzyness bothers me grrr..

Any ideas? Could it be the way the collarbone moved & is pinching on something?

I have a fup appt with the orth dr on thurs. If he doesn't answer my questions to my satisfaction, do i go to my own dr & complain?

    Any ideas would be wonderful.

    Thanks

    c

Dizziness has a lot of different causes. Most of them innocuous but some of them serious. The safest answer is to contact a Doc. I'll send you more details.

    yes n no

    Hi,

I saw my ortho dr about my shoulder/collarbone today & asked about the dizyness. I was referred to my normal GP.

I will give it a few more days as this is probably normal after a concussion and will take time to settle.

If it's not better by next thurs, then i'll see my loverly gp

How is your shoulder and collar bone? Are you on the mend?

    mend

    I'm on the mend

The collarbone is healing & will take another 3 weeks or so to heal. I have an ultrasound on my shoulder on Monday to ensure it's ok. I start physio on the area on Thursday

All i can say is, i don't wish a collarbone injury on anyone! Owie!

    Thank goodness for strapless bras!

    THanks for asking Sundial!

    Hey CC -
Sorry to hear about the dizziness (dizzyness?) chickie - just how bad was that crack on your head? How long do these dizzy spells last when you change position from horizontal to vertical? If it's longer than an initial head rush, then I'd be talking to your doctor. What's your BP like?

(I have mild vertigo permanently from a head injury sustained while a University student, some gmrmorm... years ago)

Here's hoping your bones are knitting well

You know, I had never thought about the bra issue with a collar bone!

It would probably be good to eat lots of anti=inflammatory foods like spinach and broccoli. I know there's more, I just can't think of 'em right now.

    updates

    Right..Time for a short update..or a few updates..

As far as i can tell/feel, the BPV has disappeared Fark it was annoying!! I only had to do the Brandt & Daroff exercise once...

My knee is still sore/tender where the MCL is..not sure if it's going to feel that way for a while?? I see the ortho on monday.. (at least the leg brace floats ) but really have no clue what's next..

The main issue for me right now is understanding how my collarbone should feel at this stage of the game. When i swim it's getting used to a whole new feeling in the collarbone area. It's not going to stop me from swimming as i'm going as slow as i possibly can. I also do modified pilates at a studio & the staff have created a post injury program where i work on strengthening things.

My shouler is still quite sore & i can't lay on my left side as it's quite tender. I often can't reach with my left arm over to my right shoulder as it feels as if my shoulder's stuck.

What were your experiences with a collarbone injury??? Any suggestions and does this sound familiar?

    Thanks
    C
