At least it wasn't a snake. My cat brought one of those home once. And it was still alive!
We had another cat who used to live on our street, but no one owned him. He figured out if he went through our cat door there was food on the other side.
Because he was a stray I didn't want my cats to have to much contact with him (he didn't have shots) so we tried to keep him out. He would not let us near him anyway.
We called him scrappy. We feed him outside for a couple years. Tried to trap him so we could get him help but he was to smart. He ended up passing away in the bushes next door. We buried him up by our favorite bike trail. Now the scrappy trail. At least he got food for a couple years. Oh he seemed pretty old by the time he passed.
Oh oh and another time a local cat got stuck in our basement one weekend. I went in one day to get something. And it is one of those kinda scary dirty basements. As i went to turn the light on I herd a weak meow....I had visions of horror movies in my mind and was almost afraid to turn the light on. But I did and it was just a hungry big orange cat. He ran out of the basement like he's tail was on fire.
Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.
