looks like a challenging week on the bike!

Way to go Silver!!! Can't wait to hear your report.
I will be the first to admit I haven't found the moxie to commit to anything over a century. Heck, I cried when my first century didn't end when my odometer hit 100.

OK!! just a start...I don't know where to begin....
total miles for the day 139 miles 17 mph average!
We took a wrong turn on the last 2 miles and it got dark. Thank goodness I had some lights!
It was a perfect day for a ride. Mostly wind at our backs, Fall leaves, lightly trafficked roads. some flats, some rolling hills, some "real" hills and some lovely downhills! cows, horses, vistas and farmlands. mr. waiting for me at the end!
It was lovely. I didn't have as much push after 100 miles but could have gone on farther if we'd had more daylight. We'd like to make this an annual or semi annual event and we learned a lot to improve it next time.
I'm looking forward to doing more long distances. I really love it!!!!
PS: I passed 6,000 for the year on the ride!![]()

No C to C for me either, the RAINStorm does have some appeal, and I think 2 of my riding buddies might do it, but the time of year is killer. We have young kids (8 & 5), and with school out, I would need to get a sitter for the week (not impossible, but it would be tough on SR as well) so I think I'll pass.
As of plans, nothing major. SR and I tandem and will try to do about 6 rides on the tandem (hopefully including the Chicago night Breakfast ride). We belong to the Dayton club and do most of thier events. I'll likely do RAIN again, but I'm sure I'll miss the weather we had this year. I'm also want to get geared up for the Greenville, Ohio time trial series, but I get slaughtered in my age group (to many 40 somethings with money and time to train) - still fun! Maybe I can get SR to TT the tandem, if you can't beat them - change classesOtherwise ride about the same mileage ~ 4,500 - 5,000 (I love your 6,000 miles), keep working on speed and weight loss, and ride with the guys on Tues and Thurs as much as I can.
A couple guys from the group just opened a new bike shop, so now we have a place to hang out. SR already caught be there once when I was suppose to be coming home, still better then a bar - right?
I know way more then you asked, but you asked
Enjoy reading about the Silver success.
P.S. Still saiting on SR's new Madone![]()
Silver- I can't believe you hit your 6,000 miles goal so early in November! I looked the other day and knew you were closing it, but it still blows my mind.![]()
