Don't forget that all carbs are not created equal! Some are metabolized quicker than others and have a greater impact on your sugar and insulin levels. Fruit is one of the "good" carbs full of fiber, vitamins, and takes longer to eat and affect your blood sugar. Check out a site on glycemic indexes to get a better idea of what it is and how to choose "good" carbs. My delemia is that I'm vegetarian. All my protien sources have carbs. All the fruits and vegitables I love have carbs and lots of calories. So, I'm having a hard time trying to balance the carb/calories/protien. It makes wanting to eat fruit pointless but I like fruit and it provides other important nutrients.
I'm doing ok here but not great. I'm good at staying on track until the evenings. For some reason I've got the munchies after supper so I need to make a plan to deal with that. I rode on Tuesday (16 miles) and did hills on Thursday (25 miles). Ate way too much at Applebees tonight though! Tomorrow morning I'm planning to do about 45 miles so hopefully I can work some of it off.![]()
Great Job Everyone!!!
