Wow, that looks very scary! All those pics of her not moving were the worst part. Luckily, she looks like her injuries could have been much worse. whew.
Lots of butterflies to her and all the injured triathletes out there,

Very scary! And so sad. Natascha is one of my absolute favorite pro athletes. She always has a smile on her face. And if you scroll through to the last picture, she is smiling through the pain. She is one of those individuals who feels blessed to be able to do what she does, and never takes advantage of it.
Sending healing vibes her way, thats for sure!

wow, scary and amazing photos at the same time. she does seem like a nice person (from what I've seen/heard).
Wow! Did she get up and keep riding?
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

MD- She tried to on the loaner cervelo. From what I read her husband ( i think it was her husband??) was literally BEGGING her to stop and abandon.
She is one tough cookie.
How scary! Hope she's OK now.
I got to see Natascha win Ironman Hawaii in 2000. She made the turn onto Alii Drive with a huge smile on her face, then kind of twirled around and skipped, playing to the crowd. It was really awesome - she looked so strong and fresh. We found out later she'd actually been sick and vomited earlier in the run, so she really knows how to harden the **** up!
My favorite on camera moment on the nbc coverage from last year was when she was walking. She looked defeated, was having stomach problems, and someone cheered for her. She got a big smile and that "Lets rally" look on her face and started running again. She finished porbably the worst she ever has and still played it up for the camera at the finish.
She really seems to be grateful for the gift she's been blessed with.
