We have a birthday cake sitting around that I successfully avoided or included in my calorie+workout total. Last night at about 7:00 pm, after I was all fed for the day, I just HAD to have a slice of that cake!
It wasn't a big slice, but it was bigger than the slices I had included in my calorie totals.
Luckily it only put me over the top by about 50 calories. Still, I can't have that every day. I've been trying to get the birthday boy (14) to eat huge slices of the cake, but he's resisting (he tries to eat healthy, too).
I don't eat at night. At 4:00 pm I'm hungry for dinner or will be by 5:00, so my eating pretty much stops by 6:00 depending on what I'm cooking. So for me to have that cake late is unusual.
On a positive note, we've all avoided the leftover Halloween candy since Halloween night. We usually end up throwing it away anyway--except Smarties--I love Smarties (only 25 calories per roll).

I also made a lot of smoothies - but I had to use only fruits that had no seeds as those got stuck in my stitches (no blueberries or strawberries). I remember not even being able to chew cooked pasta or bananas!
Today was white-chocolate macadamia nut cookies. I'm sticking with fresh pineapple and apricots, but the cookies are gonna be out there all day.
