This isn't inspiring about getting outside, but...How about a trainer for your bike? It's not very exciting, but it IS getting on your bike. You're not leaving your son home alone and you're not out in traffic in the dark.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I may just get a trainer for the winter months which would help keep me in shape for spring riding. And yes, "someday" is today -- lately I've been better at making excuses for not riding than just doing it. Time to turn my mindset around . . .![]()

I resorted to putting my bike on my trainer last week for my after work rides. Although I can ride backroads and use a light, I know I would not enjoy riding in the dark as I would be consentrating on cracks and what not in the rode ahead.
Put your bike in front of the tv, it turns out not to be so bad![]()

Hey Vmax...I feel your pain!
Can you run a few errands by bike after work? That helps me get my fill. Then get out there on the weekend and ride during the day if at all possible.
I invested in a great lighting system and commute by bike a few times a week. Can you do that?

"I rejoice every time I see a woman ride by on a bike. It gives her a feeling of self-reliance and independence the moment she takes her seat; and away she goes, the picture of untrammelled womanhood."
