I'm not sure if my liver would handle a trip to Scotland. I have a hard time turning down a friendly drink...

C'mon, Boy! it's not about your liver handling it, but having enough braincells to look at the crew and say "Sure. I can sacrifice you in the name of Scottish ales and liqueurs!" Brave, kamikaze frontal lobe cells die for me evrrrrr mmmm nnnnnnngggggg....
I have this theory about brain cells.
There are good brain cells that want to study, work and generally act right. Then there are the "bad" brain cells that want to drink, party and spend your kids' college money on bike parts.
Bad brain cells are created when good brain cells go bad.
When the booze hits the brain, the bad cells push, browbeat and generally punk the good ones into having "just a little drink."
In the bike shop, the bad cells are the ones saying "They are phil wood hubs, that's ONLY two or three college text books..."
Well, I've already been to college so I don't need to study anymore.

CC, me thinks that many of those Kiwis and Aussies can trace their ancestors back to Scotland. Och, aye!
The same could probably be said about them southern mountain folk. You know who you are.![]()

I've drank with representatives of several of Her Majesty's former colonies. It'd be a hard call. Bruno did put a serious hurting on that bottle of drambuie. She also drug me into that particular folly by insisting, nay demanding, that I partake also. Twenty-two ounce bottle of stout in my hand notwithstanding.
But, an interesting correlation. Of the 4 kilted members of the party, who left with their sobriety intact?
Should I also mention that my family ran moonshine only two generations ago?

When I was in college my roommate at a boyfriend who was Scottish, I can actually understand a Scot pretty well. My problem is after growing up all over the world I tend to mimic any accent I come in contact with...an old survival strategy used to fit in in a new environment.![]()
