OK..I went on a 10 mile ride today and I noticed all these people wearing these shirts...they were kind of faded colors, long sleeve, loose fitting. Looked like long sleeve tshirts...but so many people had them on...I wondered if they were WOOL???? I want one...

Elk, I've been thinking about riding with the girls and now that I have read your tried and true tips, I may give it a whirl.

Last year I bought a recumbent trike in hopes that it would offer a more stable ride for both me and my 85 lb. gsd. I didn't anticipate the trike being difficult to ride the hills, so it's parked in the garage for now. I may consider using one of the attachments on the mtb and take it out for a short spin. I like the one with the harness. As for the other attachments, unless the designer is familiar with prey drive in a herding breed, they have no idea what they are in for if a squirrel crosses the path.

I've been trying to post links to the other websites...Walkydog and Springer. Bikerdog and Springer, and I think, Walkydog, all have videos of the leashes in use and from what I can tell, it would hard for your dog to pull you down with any of them... I keep a collar and leash on Maudie that I hold in my hand in case I need to correct her ...the worst that happens is that she wants to turn around or go off to the side and it slows the bike down.

It's been way easier than I even thought...and fun too!

I bought my Bikerdog from a guy who builds recumbents in Colorado...He was great to buy from, from I can't remember his name!! I'll go look. Google Bikerdog.

Thanks, Elk. My girls will enjoy actually going for a jog. I'm with you, a walk in the neighborhood just isn't enough. I used to throw the frisbee for Kali in the side yard, but lately there have been too many strays just appear out of nowhere. One day a horse comes trotting right by our yard and the riders were teens. They didn't even have a saddle and their dogs were running loose beside them and one came charging at us in our yard! Luckily Kali is responsive to commands, but she does have her limits when it comes to protecting her yard.
