I just want to proceed with caution here, because this statement makes it all sound so simple. I know Mr. Silver didn't intend to condense a very complex problem into a simple solution. But when you're depressed, and you read a simplification like that, it can be very overwhelming. When I was at my darkest time, It would have sounded just like another thing I'm failing at.Medication is also an option, but I understand that 30 minutes of aerobic exercise is the equivalent of an anti-depression medication.
I would be happy if the statement read "aerobic exericise CAN BE the equivalent of an anti-depression medication." Consider that some people who exercise regularly and even train for competition can be depressed and on medication.
I'm sorry, Mausland, that you seem to be suffering so. Please confide in someone--your partner, friend or parent--who can help you. One minute at a time, dear.
Karen
