peppermint dissolved in bourbon. My dad's cure for everything.

I think they used the same thing when I was teething. And had a sore throat. And an upset stomach.

If it doesn't actually work, at least you have a bit of a buzz and you don't care. The peppermint will also cover the smell of alcohol on your breath.

ColdFX (and flonase so I don't get a sinus infection). My colds never last more than 3-4 days.

Apparently I have a tender nose I've tried every tissue with and without lotion, and my most looks like Rudolph 2 days into a cold no matter what....

And if you're prone to sinus infections, irrigate. Neti pot, or if you MUST throw stuff onto the landfills, there are disposable options now. Deal with having to look at what comes out of there... better down the sink in front of your eyes, than festering in your sinuses.

Thanks to everyone for all of your suggestions. I survived my week from . . . at work with my cold. I ended up using Zicam, and it seemed to push it through quickly.

Cold-FX, Garlic, SleepyTime Tea (I stay away from green due to the caffeine), echinacea, warm socks, wooly hat, and some fresh air.

Also, you have to remember to always drink lots of water. That'll always help.

Sorry you're sick Hope you feel better soon.

Guess I caught your cold... d**n these computer viruses!

which made me remember another way to get my raw garlic: thinly sliced, in miso soup. One large clove, a tablespoon or two of your favorite miso, a sprinkle of dried wakame in a 12-oz mug of hot water.
