I am right handed and initially always unclipped right first and would then panic and unclip left as well. And I would start with my left foot clipped in. These days, I switch it up for both in and out. I may go in and out of the right a little more often. Of course, I am going to go on my first ride with my new pedals tomorrow. We will have to see if it that changes things.

I unclip right and it drives my boyfriend crazy. He's been trying to break me of the habit and finally bought a tandem for us to cure me of my misdeeds. Just kidding...the tandem was already in the plan and the bonus is that it's going to force me to unclip left.

Yeah, what Eden said? I'm confused about what is incorrect with unclipping right. I unclip right and lean right away from traffic when I stop -- I feel safer, personally. I wish I were more ambidexterous, but I'm just not. I don't get chain tats, either! Well, at least not often.

Don't rotate. The wear you've put on one cleat can cause some misalignment with your knees. The wear patterns will be different for both. Besides, why keep the dead one?

I always unclip left. I replace my left KEO cleat fairly often, but rarely ever the right. I carry around covers for walking.

I guess I'm in the minority here, since I unclip my right foot first. I always plan on getting used to unclipping on the left first, but that never happens...
