any of you are welcome to this Nishiki, but I'm not sure it is worth the cost of shipping. I just hated to see it in that trash heap and it had possibility, at least the pedals.
Now, "Lotus Blossom", I love. She's mine until something happens to me...at which time uforgot is the godmother.![]()

I could be interested in that Nishiki. Tell us the seat tube length (center of bottom bracket to top of tube at seat post) and the top tube length (center to center). Also, what size tire is on it (27 inch or 700c)?
Oil is good, grease is better.

It is in the garage still in the back of the truck. I will get it out tomorrow and measure all of that and let you know.

lol -- all of it. the dilapidated barn, the rusted bikes, the discussion, the point that the nishiki might be OK, the admission that it was purchased.. lol
TE is great

Only one worth in the photo. And it is Nishiki. It's a good frame, maybe dirty but its a good bike. You can tell pretty easily in the photo because you also included the picture of the cranks. The other bikes in the photo used really cheap cranks. Its a single piece crank and spindle. Cheap cheap BAD!
The crank on Nishiki is broken into your bottom bracket, square spindle, crank arm with the screw to lock the arm into spindle. It's found on better quality bike. You got a good deal on the Nishiki. May need to replace the components including the headset. Still it is a good frame. You have a good eye.

By the way, you DID know I have a soft spot for Nishikis, didn't you?
I've got five....

This thread is hilarious. What an adventure, Sandra! I'm glad you bought the Nishiki... I was looking at the pictures, and my first thought was, oh... she should have rescued that poor Nishiki. Someone could make a nice single-speed city bike out of it or something!![]()

See, that's why I bought it (besides I thought I might use the pedals). I'd love to do that, but I had to have SOMETHING to practice on. I didn't want anything too expensive to practice on but I didn't want a pile of rust either!
Now if I only knew how to start.

No, they are not all mixtes.
Nishiki Pro
Nishiki Olympic 12
Nishiki Sport mixte
Nishiki International
and I forget the last one.
Here's a photo of all the mixtes I had at one point, including a second Sport mixte which I no longer own, and the Raleigh which now lives with mimitabby.

Hey Sandra.....you sure you don't have any more bike buying "confessions" to make?![]()
If we are counting our bikes, I think it would be fair enough to only count bikes we own that are in somewhat functional condition. Thus, your Nishiki does not count- it is classified as "parts".![]()
Yes, poor me with only one bike. (heh heh, but my one bike is very nice, AND I have a deposit in on my luscious custom which will be born a few months from now...yummy!)
