to tow or not to tow.....

Ok, so here's the story. Back during the summer Mr.'s A/C died on the Lexus. So he left it here for me to get it fixed and he took my minivan to Bloomington. It ended up taking about 3 weeks to fix. The Lexus service department gave us a loaner car (that little SUV). So while Mr. had the van the windshield got a crack.

I could care less, but he wanted to get it fixed so he called and made arrangements. So they came out to the house this morning and took the windshield out and discovered that there is rust underneath. So, they couldn't put the new one on. And I had to get the van to a body shop to get the rust removed and repainted.

They are telling me that I need to have it towed. I'm thinking how can driving without a windshield any different than riding my bike? So they say, well a rock might get thrown up on you.......yeah, been there, done that. learned to keep my mouth shut afterwards. They say well it will be alot of wind going 40 MPH. Yeah! been there, done that!

So I loaded The Lovely Madone and chose some back streets (my bike route) and very carefully drove to the body shop. They repaired the rust damage this afternoon. The windshield will be installed there and I'll ride back over and pick it up in the morning.....just in time to load it up to drive to Bloominton for the HILLY!!!

    Thanks for reading!!!

Wow! When you called today with the problem, I was going to suggest just towing it...but I was afraid you'd think I was being rude and crazy!

The wind at 40 mph is great! I've got a cracked windshield in my truck that needs to be fixed before cold weather hits.

Hub, I've been to Cleveland ... And Gunnison.
