Huh. Those look very similar to the Velo Orange branded bags. Lower price and slightly different sizes... *takes notes*

Oh, elk is an internet sleuth.....there are 3 places to get bags like that.

    duluth pack
    velo orange
    Frost River.

That is also the ascending order of $$$
They may vary a bit in size...

4 places.....don't forget Rivendell, who originally designed that type of bag and who offers it in several colors:
    http://www.rivbike.com/products/list...product=20-125
Admittedly more expensive at the moment but hey if you like tweed, etc.....

P.S. of all of them, I like the VO croissant bags, because they are the only ones to have the closure strap come down over the whole top so you can actually tuck a spare clothing layer UNDER the top strap but on TOP of the bag. It gives you way more handy storage ability. I have used that top strap many a time for rolling up an extra smartwool crew shirt or rain vest....

I ordered one of those Frost River bags. A whole thread about it! It looked NOTHING like the picture. I sent it back and demanded they refund shipping also, since it was so different. They refunded it, but I noticed that they still have those same pics on their website.

    Frost River

Found the pics. Bias tape trim, no leather across the top with rivets, which I suspect helps the top hold its shape.

Those Duluth bags look really nice. Don't suppose you could post a pic with your bike????? Pretty please????

wow...that is a huge difference....problem with using those drawings is you don't get any sense of the material.

I will take some photos and post them by this evening...happy to!

Thanks! You know, I tried to look at the Duluth site again and I can't get the bike bags to come up. Wonder if there was a run on them after you posted the link here?

I think ALL "Bob-ish/vintage" biking forums got wind of them pretty quickly. People on the two Rivendell lists were certainly on top of it before it came up here on TE.

    Another possibility is this:
Duluth used to make all those very bags for Rivendell under the Baggins label. Riv designed them. (Frost River used to make bags for Riv as well, for a while.)
Apparently Duluth found a few forgotten boxes of these various Baggins bags they had made for Rivendell in their warehouse, and put their Duluth logo on them and put them for sale to sell them off. People started ordering them like mad right away, because the price was really cheap and they are great bags.
So- either they are all sold out already (which is what I suspect).... or else Rivendell threatened them somehow, or bought them all up, or made a deal, and Duluth removed them from their site.
