A day late... It was a gorgeous day yesterday. I went out and did an hour-and-a-half trail run. The aspens are changing colors. The trail was nicely packed since it snowed the other day. It was beautiful!

You are the best! I had a very good half marathon run in Boise, Idaho on Sunday. The weather started out in the 40's somewhat cool but warmed to 60's by noon. I couldn't decide if I should wear shorts or pants but ended up wearing light tights and lighter tops. What a beautiful run! The trees are so pretty hence the name "City of Trees" .We run through the downtown historic houses and through warm springs. Plenty of aid stations and potty's, great volunteers and hot soup in side the hotel at the end. You start and finish right in front of the host hotel. I stayed at the Hotel 43 a block away. I love Boise!! The weather at home in AF and Pocatello had more snow Friday and Saturday so I was glad to be in Boise!!
My finish time was 2:05:11, I finished 8th out of 21 in my age group and 78 out of 218 overall age. Not good enough for a trophy but I was happy since I improved 6 minutes fromt the last time I ran the City of Tree's half.
Here is a new run October 27th in Boise called the Prisonbreak half, 10k, 5k
looks really fun. I think I will do the half.

Been busy but I did my trail race on Saturday, unfortunately I hadn't managed to shake off my horrible cold so it was hard work on the first flat mile never mind the big climb. I ran as much as I could (more than most people) but I just couldn't recover at all, my heart rate refused to come back down. I managed to make up a lot of time on the descent thankfully but it was basically hard work. I managed 1:36 for 15k and 1700ft of ascent which was well within my goal of under two hours. Spent most of Sunday in bed illand am resting up now until I shake this cold for good.
It was a beautiful day, a little on the warm side really and I took advantage of the walk breaks to look at the stunning views, I could see for miles.![]()
I have another trail race on 3rd of November though this one winds its way along the shores of Ullswater so will be more undulating rather than long climbs and descents.
That Prison Break run looks like fun! It's too late to plan it for this year but I'm thinking I'd love to do it next year. And maybe I could even be up for a half by then![]()
