well, i suppose it's obvious but just in case: my last posting is for mtb shorts! tks again!!

By "mtb shorts" do you mean baggies?
If that is the case, I'd love to hear also if anyone has found a pair of good, workable, women's baggies. Most of the women's baggies are cut to look like cutesie "surfer-girl shorts". Cute off the bike...but boy do they suck on technical downhills!
I stick with lycra off-road, no problems with catching the shorts on the saddle and if I want the longer leg-length I can just buy a small men's size.

fyi, the message board administrator suggested sugoi bully somethin' or others. i don't remember the exact name & i can't find the message she sent. i'm sure if you do a search on teamestrogen.com, you'll find them. search for sugoi +bully. they were about $100, but i'm sure worth every penny!

i don't fit in men's small. i usually were a xs or small. i have a pair of sugoi's that fit, so these might work for me!

I just bought some REI women's specific baggies and they are awesome! I generally stick with tights while riding but I'm doing my first festival in a couple weeks and I wanted something I could walk around in after rides without feeling self-conscious. I don't have the tag anymore so I can't remember the specific name of the shorts. But I tried a couple of REI shorts on and liked them both fit-wise. One just had an extra zipper pocket that I liked.

Another shorts question... Am I the only one who thinks the placement of the SheBeest emblem on the inside front of the chamois is a little odd? Or is there a purpose?? Just wondered!

There is no way I will pay $100 for a pair of shorts. NO way. I may check out Seirra Trading Post has some on sale for $34 right now.

For the price they want I'll stick to lycra.

i totally forgot about sierra trading post! i checked their site & found the Conrad Rockette shorts by Sugoi. they're only $40! much better than $100! tks for the reminder!

Don't laugh but, I really like RXL brand riding clothes. Why? Two things: I used to be in the fabric biz years ago and I would buy any and all of the Ralph Lauren fabric buy-outs that I could get my hands on. The guy SERIOUSLY knows threads. Secondly, he also owns a bike team.

RLX designed these great windbreaker/riding jackets that have mesh vents under the arm pits, and, they fold in/strap on to the waist perfectly when you take them off. RLX field-sensor shorts are the best I've ever worn...I know I must sound like a " styling' poser" wearing RLX brand, but for reals ladies; the guy really buys the best fabrics and appears to be designing like a real bike rider. I was amazed the day I found one of his bike shirts in Ross's (RLX is not cheap. I shop the sales)...I wore it riding and could not believe how everthing on it was actually designed for riding purposes...I know, blink-blink. I would recommend grabbing those shorts on Sierra and see for youself...if you hate'm, send'm back. I think some riders snub his stuff as "designer" rave...good, more for me when they go on sale!

I'm another RLX fan. I ride almost daily in one of the three pairs of RLX shorts I bought over 3 years ago. They really hold up well. The chamois is just enough to provide comfort, but not so thick that it bunches up off-road. Mine are comfortable enough to run in and so they are also usually my choice for bricks and Du's (RL also sponsors a Tri team so maybe the athletes actually have some input?).

The RLX jerseys are beautifully constructed. As Terry pointed out, good fabric knowledge and all those years in the fashion industry really show. They also have thoughtful cyclist-friendly details like reflective strips built into the design. I had a hard time getting over the "designer" logos at first too, but the stuff just works and since the Co. actually sponors teams, I've gotten over that.
