Awesome job! You did great! I was thinking about you Sunday, wondering how it went.

Hey, that is wonderful. Been checking for news from you off and on all week. Here's to you and to your mom too.
"My predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." Thanks for the support guys.

As to the question, "was it worth it?"

Yes. The stress and expense of getting out there were worth it. We had a great time. That being said, I do not think it is a trip I will make every year, even if I qualify. It was a lot with school starting.

    Great job!

A 22 mile mountain bike? Sheesh. And here I was complaining about 15 miles.

Congratulations. Enjoy some well-deserved R & R if you can.

    Great Job!!

You managed to catch our second snow of the season. I can't picture swimming in Tahoe in that cold!

The altitude does make a big difference. I've found that I really feel it in my swimming. You can cheat on your breathing running and biking but not swimming.

I can't imagine riding a bike in that temperature, especially with being wet from the swim.

SO cool about your mom! That must have been so emotional for you, especially after being such a difficult race.

Just wow though. I can see not wanting to do it again but you rock
