My herniation was at L5/S1 as well. I feel FABULOUS since surgery. I saw the doc this week and he says I can be back on my wheels in 2-3 weeks. He said I can most likely ride my SC40 for "social rides around the neighborhood." Unfortunately, a road bike is not likely to be an option nor is any significant distance. I'm just glad I haven't already invested in road bike! I hope to get a bent in the near future, but I'm going to have to save my pennies! I will definately look at the RANS when I get around to it. I'm hoping to use at least part of my summer school pay for it... I just have to convince my husband of this!
