    varicose veins

    Hi...I don't know if anyone else has had any issues with this problem but if you have a solution, I would appreciate hearing about it, aside from surgery.
    I have very large varicose veins in my right leg and bike shorts seem to be too tight around the thigh, causing discomfort. Any suggestions on shorts that are less constricting?

    When my varicose vein is acting up I put on my thigh-high compression stocking. That overlaps with the shorts, and the shorts compression just fades into the background.

    Vein calms down, I get to ride my bike.

    It's all good!

    I have read somewhere that vein problems are caused by a lack of copper in the diet... Don't know if any health professionals here can help with that?

    We do have a Weleda product here (same brand that produces the wonderful Arnica)

    It is Achillea... drops to put in the water for improving venous circulation for varicose veins, spider veins and haemorrhoids... won't get rid of them for you, but may help improve them...?

    The label says it has;
    aesculus bark
    antimonit
    gentiana lutea
    hamaelis bark
    millefolium
    ... in a water/ethanol base...

    Last year, I started having vv leg pain at night, very sharp and sleep-ruining. My holistic doc put me on 2 supplements - 1 called Varicosin, that has the classic natural remedies for varicose veins - horse chesnut, ginko, etc, and Nattokinase, which is a soy derivative to help rebuild/build new capillaries. After about six months of taking them, I'm tailing off without any pain returning as of yet. Also, for short term treatment I found that the Tiger Balm muscle rub helped a lot. When the pain was bothering me nightly, I just got in the habit of applying it at the site before I got into my pajamas. Good luck with this, I'm sure with a little experimenting you'll find the remedy.
