Some lab, I'm sure, but enlarge the photos. Something about it looks like a bear, something about it looks like a cat.

Ohhhhh.... She's gorgeous. I want a big dog. [sniff, sniff] I just can't right now because I don't think it's right to squeeze larger dogs into an apartment. They should have a yard to play in!
Please, someone adopt her. I can't bare the thought of the poor gal being put down because she couldn't find a home. Then again, how could anyone turn down a face like that. She does look so sweet.
Wahhhhh!!! I wanna take her home! [sigh] I guess it's a good thing that she's on the other side of the country or I be way too tempted to bring her home (even with my big dog + room enough to run around rule).

actually...big dogs can do really well in apartments...they often have less indoor energy...they need long walks and dog parks, but lots of them are couch potatoes....my papillons (7 lbs each) are always on the move; my collie snoozes. Greyhounds...run for 1/2 hour, sleep 23.5....

aaawww, how could anyone not love a sweet face like that... what a smile!
Definitely Newfoundland, like the link now says.

I do see Newfie, but I also see a touch of Golden Retriever in the face and probably Labrador. Looks like a puppy - 6-9 months old?? Who ever gets this dog will certainly take home a sweetie. If she (he?) is Newfie/Lab/Golden, she will love to swim, be good around kids & small dogs and affectionate.
To train a dog, you must be more interesting than dirt.

Right - I've been told Great Danes actually are good "old-lady dogs" as they need a lot of rest and are quite happy stalking around in a dignified and leisurely manner on walks![]()
(I've always liked Great Danes).

I agree about big dogs in apartments! It's totally do able depending both on the breed and on the commitment of the owner.
I had a shephard/dobie mix for 12 years who went from apartment to apartment with me. It was wonderful because it forced me to be out and active on a regular basis because she needed it. Walks, runs, dog parks (in her younger days), you name it!
In fact, when I finally got married and bought a house with a yard, she had no interest in it. She just wanted to be where I was, even if it was watching football.![]()
My new non-farm blog: Finding Freedom
I had a Mastiff AND a Newfie/Bernese mix, and they both were big, lazy loofs. Whether I was in a big house or a 1-bedroom apartment, they didn't care. The Newfie just slept in a corner of a closet, and the Mastiff just stayed right under my feet. Long walks, yeah, but happiest just being snuggled near me.
Jeez, I miss them both.
For 3 days, I get to part of a thousand other journeys.
based on the brindle coloring, i would say there is some mastiff/bullmastiff/dane mixed in. cute!
Hey guys! It says right next to the photo that it is a Newfie/Plott mix.
The Plott is newly recognized by the AKC but as it is one of the coonhounds there is no way I'd coop it up in an apartment. They love to tree animals and bay.

They are very handsome dogs. I'm not the type that could deal with the coon hound personality.Just not me.
