yeh, i painted it. thank you.

    i built the garage too.

for the bike rack i didnt do any measurements or anything, just started with old sprinkler parts and started piecing it together, holding the bike against the wall and figuring out rough dimensions. then i dry-fit it together, did some more cutting or replacing pieces that were cut down too much, then when i was happy i glued it all together. i used 3/4" PVC, 90-degree elbows and masonry screws (blue tapcons). oh and old pegboard hangers for the helmets.

PinkBike, you built the garage, too??! I wanna be you when I grow up.

That's so cool. You're amazingly talented and handy to boot.

Now, could you come over and build me a closet? How about a house around it while you're at it.

Edited to add: What kind of helmet do you have? I like it a lot, but I can't quite make out the brand. Did it come with the reflective strips or did you add that?

Sheesh, the little joiny bits are expensive. Tidied the garage a bit so the bikes could just lean against the wall instead.

Well I have been just leaning the bikes, but we had an incident a few weeks ago. One of our schnauzers is blind and wandered in the garage while we were unloading the car after a trip. She knocked over DH's bike, got scared and ran straight into mine. Then she couldn't figure out what had happened, started to panic and was standing on my rear wheel and part of my drivetrain crying. Poor baby girl, she wasn't hurt and the bikes were ok but my car got scratched. The little dogs are quick and they do wander into the garage on occasion, so I want to find an economical method of storing the bikes and avoiding future dog/bike/car injuries (mainly dog and bike).

Pink- You are talented!! I do think I can make the same thing, maybe not as well. My walls are the drywall but I think I can use drywall anchors for stability?

tiger, the helmet is a trek anthem. i added the reflective strips. i broke the restraining strap and emailed trek and they replied and gave me the part number to order a replacement, i thought that was very cool. i also have a giro atmos, but the anthem is so much better for the ponytail!!

diva, i cant picture what you're referring to. the couplings? theyre not necessary, i just had pieces of PVC laying around that already had elbows glued in, so i used those and then had to use the couplings to make it the right length. i wouldve preferred not to use the couplings but i am (a) cheap and (b) lazy. the elbows are 31 cents at home depot.

aggie, find a stud. on the wall, on the wall! sheeesh. i dont think anchors will be strong enough.
