    Sounds like a compression issue.

Have you taken your shoes to a shoe store or shoe repair shop to get them stretched?

There are lots of nifty things you can do with insoles and posting wedges and buttons and such, but if the ball of the shoe is narrower than the ball of your foot I'd be looking at the shoe first.

I'm sure someone makes custom, and I know there are several women on here who have discussed wide toe-box shoes. They'll have ideas.

How do your feet feel in cycling sandals?

As far as finding everyday shoes, how about giving these folks a call? http://www.wideshoes.cc/ They have men's and women's up to quintuple-E and their store gets good reviews.

Sidi makes Mega Wides down to a size 40.

I'd suggest you have someone look at your foot. It sounds very familiar to my Morton's Neuroma. Once I had that removed, my foot numbness disappeared.
