I have a truly amazing colon cancer history on my dad's side---like at least one of my grandparents, ALL THREE of their children, and now in my generation, my cousin. I don't like colonoscopies much but I was the one who suggested every three years and will willingly keep it up forever. Bleah. Could be worse, I guess. Anyway, better to test than not to test.
"My predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." O. Sacks
