Unfortunately no. But hang on to the excited, this is super cool feeling, because it is. The rest is just the tedium of details.

Huge, delighted, weight bearing, worry lifting butterflies headed your way. This is worth it, you're going to Nationals!

Hugs, more hugs, and tons of butterflies,

Most of us will never have such a chance...

I know it seems difficult now, but think for a moment of all those who would love to be in your shoes - most people will never have the chance to compete at an elite, national level in any of their pursuits. You do! It will be an amazing time, from the moment you check in with the vibe of other excited athletes all around you. You may stop and think to yourself a few times "Whoa, pinch me, am I really here??" The best part is you've earned the right to be there.

So stay the course, because it will be worth it. You just can't feel that in this moment, but you'll always wonder "what if," if you were to abandon now... these opportunities don't often come around twice.

    Is that a good start?

I have nothing more to offer than all the good things that have been said already. Mom can't post words of wisdom here, but you know she's speaking to your heart right now giving you all kinds of good thoughts and vibes.

I'm just sending good karma and good vibes your way... see I already sent them. Are they working yet?

Oh- and I've said it before but I'll say it again. Congrats on getting to nationals. It's such a HUGE honor to get the chance to race against the best. You'll have a wonderful time and make some incredible memories to reflect on for years. And... you better take lots of pictures since I know I'll never get to attend such a cool competition as that.

Oh- and another thing. The start of the school year IS insane. A month in, and it's still kicking my tail every day. I soooo want to do Louisville next year, but at the start of the year I'd REALLY go crazy with all the prep and grading when I return. I feel your pain, sister.

How frustrating! Paying out the waa-zoo for something can really put a damper on your fun. Budgets matter.

Well, maybe you can find a way in your mind to justify the cost?

    1) You are going to NATIONALS... how freaking cool is that?

    2) It's money. You will earn more and pay off any debt you may have incurred by shipping the bikes.

    3) This is a one in a lifetime chance that a lot of people don't get to do. You know, when I do stuff that I never expected to do... and I spend more money than I should I have... I have NEVER ONCE REGRETTED it. I always look back on the memories fondly and the money I spent seems really irrelevant.

So... good kharma to you! It's worth it! Years from now what you are paying now won't mean a thing but the memories will.

    *Hugs*

Hmm, I think the only logical thing to do is to chop off Chris' legs so he needs to ride a normal-person sized bike.
