I have never heard of these...

Not sure if we have one in NZ, but if we don't, we should

I don't know of many cyclists here in Godzone that have been killed, but I do know a significant number who have been hit by cars, pushed of the edge of the road, or verbally abused...

On the one hand, we have government saying get out, back to nature, get fit, save the worlds resources... and yet they (government) do not support cycling - which does all of the afore-mentioned...

I'll have a hunt about a bit and see what I can find here in NZ

shewhobikes... does your Birmingham one cooincide with the American week/day?
Wouldn't it be cool if cycling nations around the world could all do this at the same time...?

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
    "I will try again tomorrow".

Um... shewhobikes... I was thinking Birmingham in the UK... but you are Birmingham in the States though! Just looked under your av! Whoops...

(One of my fave songs is by EmmyLou Harris... "Boulder to Birmingham" ... it makes me wanna cry every time... it would actually suit as a theme song for this ride... though I think she wrote it for her father aftfer his death)
