24 hr Solo Worlds - Race Report

Thanks Ladies! It was a great race and really fun to share the experience. Maybe I'll get hooked to posting race reports! It's like you get to do it all over again, but from the couch

Excuse my ignorance... but a 24 hour race... this means you go as far/do as many laps as you can within 24 hours?

You got it! They map out a course and you ride round and round ... you can actually ride for 26 hours if you time it right ... but the laps would have to be shorter!!

What a great race and a great race report! Wow! 24-hour solo racing at the elite level is just amazing! Very, VERY impressive!

I raced this event, too. But I didn't write a race report, because it wasn't so much a race for me. It was more like a rolling party with a bunch of my friends. We were in the 6 to 10 man corporate division. We each only did 1 or 2 laps!! We at pizza and drank beer! It was fun (and we took 3rd place!)

Monterey is NEVER that hot! It is so close to the coast so it stays cool. It was perfect weather for sitting in the shade sipping brews. But not such perfect weather for hammering all day and all night on a mountain bike! And the course was pretty tough this time! You should be very proud of your accomplishment! Congratulations!
