    Quad/Hip Muscles

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I recently have started having cramps in my upper quads/hip area after being on my bike for approximately one hour. I have to stop get off and stretch and I'm good to go again......for about another hour.....then the cycle repeats itself. I think it is a biomechanical issue. I haven't adjusted anything on my bike recently or changed shoes, etc. Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

Cramps aren't usually associated with biomechanics and since you haven't changed anything I would look more to nutrition and mileage. Have you made a big jump in mileage as opposed to a gradual increase?
Are you a roadie or a MTBer?

I am a roadie and yes--I have increased my mileage. I've been stretching a lot more lately and I bought "the stick" do some deep muscle stretching. I think that is helping. We'll see.....tomorrow I'm hoping to get in 60 miles or more.

    Thanks!
