I was still riding 2 - 3 times a week, until about week 15. I believe my pelvis started shifting somewhat and I was getting pain in my left knee. I stayed off for a week, then adjusted my saddle and cleat, and that seemed to feel much better. But now it's been almost 2 weeks since I've ridden again due to lack of time. I haven't ridden longer than 50 miles since May, over the summer I was doing mostly 20 and 30 mile rides, although the heat really slowed me down. I did do a sprint tri at 11 weeks. I'm hoping to keep doing some 10 - 15 milers into the fall until I'm too big to be on my bike comfortably, assuming my knee is still ok.
There is a woman in my cycling club who was riding up very challenging canyons until 3 days before she delivered.
I just don't think I could do that.
Five kids! I'm impressed you have the time to put in the miles you do, it gives me hope for post-pregnancy riding!
The best part about going up hills is riding back down!
