Pavement Pounding - Week of August 27 to September 2

Well Ladies
Here is my update on my Pocatello half marathon. I did not have the time that I wanted but I did end up with first place in my age group 40-44 My finish time was 2:09. I would have placed third but the two ladies ahead of me were sooo fast that one finished first in overall female and one was moved to first in overall female masters so I ended up with 1rst!!

My DH was so supportive. He took the day off of work (unheard of in the farming country) and drove me to the starting point and took pictures on the course.

The heat really hurt me and many others. We did not start until 8:30 and it was already 65 degrees. There was no shade at all on the course. Everybody was pouring water over themselves at the aid stations. It was in the 80's by the time we finished and hit a high of 95.

My friend Cindy placed 4th in the same age group as me and my friend Susan ran the full marathon and placed 4th in her age group. Both felt the heat hurt their time.

Here is a picture my DH took. I am in the pink. Thanks for letting me share with you. I went on a 34 mile recovery bike ride this AM with Susan and feel pretty good.
