I might need to revise my plans for this coming month. My last two rides (Thursday and today) did not go particularly well - I felt really fatigued during both of them.

I may be coming down with something, or, could be my body is telling me to kick back a bit.

So I might put off that 200K for yet another month.
Maybe it's the weather? I felt awful on my last three rides and couldn't wait to get off the bike. My legs were screaming at me and they shouldn't have been. My quads were so tight and achy last night that I had to drug myself up with Aleve just so I could get to sleep. I'm taking today off and cutting way back for the rest of the week in preparation for the Tour de Tahoe next Sunday.

I too thought maybe it was the weather, but yesterday I did a ride near the coast where it didn't get particularly hot (well, at least not compared to inland), with very little climbing, and I was still whupped. Ask MP, she was there to see me constantly fall back.

I've either been overtraining, or I'm coming down with something (my throat does feel a little scratchy), or a little of both. Either way, a break is in order, methinks.

Well, enjoy your break, jobob. I'll try to enjoy mine too. It's weird to be here on the computer this morning instead of out riding. Hmmm, maybe I'll just go out for a quick spin. I think I have become somewhat of an addict.

I declare it's the weather. For me it's wet and cold, for you guys hot!

If you really need to go out, then your best best might be to do a "guilt-inducingly slow" ride.
