What a gorgeous brace of bikes! Despite your first sandy adventure, you should really start having some fun on your rides together now--even though he's faster with the new wheels. See, this is why I'm kind of glad the Chief won't spring for a new, lighter bike to replace his heavy hybrid--in a stiff headwind, I can beat the pants off him.

A couple of nice looking bikes, but I'm going to be the dissenter.... I think your DH's is awesome -- it's identical to mine!!! I brought mine home July 14th and I'm still loving (almost) every minute I spend on it.

I feel your hubby's pain about the paint that rubbed off where the hitch mounted bike rack rubbed. The exact same think happened when my Pilot came home. My DH solved the problem by wrapping duct tape where the bike & the hitch make contact. No problems since, but that mark bugs me every time I see it.

What kind of mirror do you have on your bike. That's one thing about my hybrid that I really miss. My LBS recommended one that hooks on my glasses, but I really want one that mounts on the handlebars.

Hubby has a Third Eye BARend Mirror that he had on his hybrid. It's not so good on the road bike. It doesn't stick out far enough, so it mostly reflects his hip as he pedals. He's going to get one like mine eventually.

P.S. Not to insult you, I really do like his bike. I actually think HIS bike looks like more of a girls bike and mine looks more like a boys. But, I have to love what I have and what I ride, so I keep telling myself mine is cooler! LOL

You didn't try to touch it up? I was thinking about taking some white gloss enamel spray paint and spraying it on a paper plate and then lightly brushing it on with a brush. It may look worse.

I did write an email to Saris customer service to let them know about the problem. I think they need to be aware and also I'm scared to use it on a long distance now. You may want to notify them as well.

Sandra, How did you get a mtb mirror to work on the drop bar? I like it, but does it fit on well? not too crazy about my helmet mirror- can't get it adjusted well. Jenn
