Yesterday we took them out to a neighborhood that has streets, but the houses are not finished. Lots of hills and just a good place to ride, we THOUGHT.
In some areas, rain had washed a lot of sand in the roads. My bike was fishtailing and at one point I nearly lost control and almost didn't get my foot out of the power grips in time to catch myself. It was steaming hot with no breeze or shade. I told the hub that I'd had it. We needed mountain bikes for that dirt!
We left, came home and washed the sand and dirt off the bikes and took off for the rails to trails. A much better ride.
One reason he has it in the higher gear is because they did not get it all adjusted out right!!!
In the lower gear ring it makes a lot of noise and grinds. He's got to get it back up there for more adjustment, but since it's an hour and a half away and not local, it will probably be next week before he can do that.
