"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather, to skid in broadside thoroughly used-up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: WOW WHAT A RIDE!!!!"
heh heh heh....
Don't think you'll ever do one ehh???
Yeah, that's what I used to say!!!![]()
Seriously, I had NO DESIRE to do one when I first started. And then I got a wild hair...
Watch out for them thar wild hairs!!![]()
Have fun tomorrow! I'm missing the IM vibe and wished I could be there or in Canada to watch wahine rip it up.
I've only done the three local sprints and there's not much competition in my age group.![]()
Anyway, my background is marathons. I've done 7....but I've had stress fracture issues in my feet from running. I had a stress fracture in my left heel bone and then I had an avulsion fracture in my right second metatarsal. I had to have surgery to remove the bone sliver. Sooooo, I don't aspire to ever run another marathon. I would, however, like to do a HIM. I think these old bones could handle that.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to going this afternoon. It's a 90 minute drive from here.
I'll probably get emotional. I think anyone who completes the 140.6 is just incredibly awe-inspiring! My hats off to all you ladies who have.
I'll be thinking of Wahine!!!
I handed out medals at the Memphis marathon when I couldn't participate. (I was training for that when I broke my heel bone). It was just incredible.
