A friend who's there said because of all the rain in the Ohio River Valley, the current is very strong. There apparently is a 400m upstream swim and then the rest is downstream (I think that's what he said). Said the upstream took 20 min, coming back downstream only took 5 min. Swim times are expected to be FAR quicker than normal. That's my kind of swim!

Have fun, Silver. It IS awe inspiring to watch a race like that. Volunteering at one was what convinced me to do one the next year. The whole atmosphere is amazing. Just have an open mind, because once you've seen it- you may catch the bug...
