Score! Free NiteRider bike light!

For those who have the MiNewts...would they be enough lighting for poorly lit areas (not completely without lighting, but close!), or are they more of a "see me!" kind of light?

I just picked up one of the Planet Bike Super Flash lights for the back - works great so far!

I ride with my MiNewt on completely dark streets, no lamps at all and overhang from trees so no moonlight either. I normally have issues with seeing at night and I have to say, there is plenty of light with these.

Thanks, Xrayted! That's good to know. I'm still doing research and trying to grasp the differences between LEDs and halogen and figuring out just how much I'm willing to spend...so any first-hand input is a help!

I got the NiteRider MiNewt LED Double Headlight set. LOVE IT! It is rechargeable, lightweight and lasts for both segments of my ride, up to 3 hours. I use it in the summer to be seen and in the winter to see. I like the dual lights because we have so much glass and this way I can see the ground right in front of me and ahead to avoid the pot holes. I went through about one tube every 100 miles for awhile-solved that with slime tires and Kevlar tires, too.

Oh, and about free stuff and credit cards...
There are tons of good deals, IF YOU PAY OFF ON TIME EVERY MONTH!!
I do this and buy everything on my cards. I get 5% CASH back on gas, grocery, and pharmacy store purchases, have the bank america for almost free airline tickets for me to Alaska(have earned 2 so far in one year-first one came with the card-$75 fee), citi has a kinda crappy rewards program with points unless you love orvis or lands end (then it is pretty cool) and you can get points at costco with a citi american express.
I buy almost everything online, with codes for discounts. I should do this professionally as I have saved tens of thousands of dollars for myself and my friends whom won't even think of purchasing most anything over $10 without consulting me first. I need to get a life.
