    Out the door for 1000

I'm excited because today's ride will put me at 1000 miles for the year. My goal is 1500 miles. I work full-time night shift and am a volunteer at our local animal shelter. I'm 47 years old and have been riding for about 22 years. Riding makes me feel like I'm still young. I wonder how many years I'll continue to ride? I hope that I'm still hammering out the miles when I'm in my 70's. Won't be long till I'm 50 and DAMN I look pretty good and feel healthy! Thank you, my bike!

    Congrats on your 1000.

I was thinking today, as I rode by a really ancient woman mowing her lawn, if I would still be riding at her age. No question I will be riding, but what? With gas over $10 a gallon, I'm sure I will be going back and forth to the grocery in my three-wheeler when I'm 80+. But maybe I'll still be on two wheels!

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
    "I will try again tomorrow".
